The short story for today: Ditto yesterday … except that we lost the sun to the clouds.  Nonetheless, I was able to sit on the veranda for most of the day.  No wind, and slightly warmer temps.  I can live with that.

Long story for today: Up at 5:30a again, but this time I turned over and snoozed for an hour before getting up.  Insignia was still rockin’ and rollin’ and deck 10 was closed to walkers.  So I used one of the lounge chairs on the veranda as an exercise mat to do my daily stretches, and then joined Mui for a walk up and down the interior staircases and around the passenger decks.  Somehow I managed to put in 6,000+ steps … not bad considering Insignia’s size.  We spent most of the day in the cabin.  Mui prefers to sit inside most of the time; I on the veranda — so we each have our own private space … which is a good thing when you’re living in a cozy space for any length of time.  We took all of our meals at the Terrace Café … light and healthy is our motto for these meals so that we don’t feel guilty splurging with calories when we occasionally go to the dining room or to one of the specialty restaurants.  Before we knew it, it was time to set our clocks back another hour and call it a day.

The exciting news for the day — for us at least — we saved some money … yay!  Mui visited Chantelle, the loyalty ambassador on Insignia, to see if there were any perks she could apply to the existing O bookings we have for 2018.  She worked some magic and got some O Club savings applied to all three cruises … all the more to spend on future travels ;-)

In closing this post … Captain B’s noon forecast for the sea state has come true.  He said that the waves would be settling down as the day progressed … and they started doing that late this afternoon.  A calmer fourth day of the crossing is predicted for tomorrow.

  1. Seems to mirror my own experience on that part of the Pacific, the next days will hopefully be fabulous. Congrats on the savings, always a good thing.

    1. Sue, I think we're getting off a lot easier than you did.

  2. Oh, gosh, I remember having to reset the time, almost every night or every other night ... we kept gaining hours, always a good thing, in my opinion. Going west to east is another story!
