The traveler was active; he went strenuously in search of people, of adventure, of experience.
The tourist is passive; he expects interesting things to happen to him.  He goes ‘sight-seeing’.

Beautiful day at sea — slight motion of the ocean, but comfortable-to-coolish temps.  A nice surprise considering where we are.  Captain Luca mentioned a typhoon had gone through the area just days ago, so I imagine that has something to do with the lower temperatures we are enjoying now.

Up at 6:00a, I read until 7:00a and then went for a walk on deck 10 to get my sea-day exercise.  At 7:30a, I joined Mui for breakfast at the Terrace Café and then it was back to the cabin.

I’d been putting off the bookkeeping chores, so I focused my attention on that first.  Then I made myself comfortable on the veranda for pretty much the rest of the day.  Journaling about Ha Long Bay took up a good chunk of my time, but I interspersed some Kindle reading, too.  And I enjoyed the company of an unexpected visitor who stopped by and stayed awhile.

Red Turtle Dove (aka Red Collared Dove)

My visitor is a red turtle dove … aka a red collared dove.

Dinner was at the Polo Grill tonight.  We asked the Gelmans and the Holloways to join us … the former accepted; the latter declined as they had a prior commitment.  We’ll try again on another occasion before they leave us in Singapore.
