A wonderful day at sea.  I could have easily not done anything, but I resisted that temptation … the decision was helped by the veranda getting the morning sun ;-)

Up at 6:00a, I went up for a walk and then met Mui at the Waves Grill for breakfast at 7:00a.  Before I knew it, it was time to head to the Insignia Lounge for the second RTW Coffee Get Together of the voyage — this one had a “bagel” theme.  CD Leslie and GM Victor were both on hand to answer questions … internet still being a sore topic with everyone.  It was here that we learned that not only will we be losing Captain B in Auckland, we will also be losing Victor and Maria, the restaurant manager … and a few others too.  We’ll see how the ship’s ambiance changes when the new people come aboard.

Speaking of the internet, I am not sure what to do about photos for the blog.  Actually, I know what I have to do — cut back on the number of photos.  There is no easy way of keeping up with the posts as we get into the more port-intensive segments of our voyage … not if I insist on my self-imposed, complicated format.  And it will be worse if I try to find time to process photos, too.  I’m not even sure if I can upload to individual online galleries and just insert a link as I have done for the last three French Polynesia posts.  I guess I’ll figure it out in the days ahead.

  1. I have been very grateful for the links to see the photos, and don't mind going there when you can't get them into the blog. I am still swooning over Bora Bora, and it is great to be able to view everything in the very attractive SmugMug galleries. I found when trying to do this same thing while we were traveling, that I had a bit of a mess when I returned trying to get my Lightroom catalog all figured out again, and track what was uploaded and what wasn't. You are probably much more organized than I am, so maybe that wouldn't be a problem for you. Keep writing, and I know we will all patiently wait for the photo links to show up eventually!!

    1. Sue, I color-code the photos I upload using the labels in LR -- for example, red means it has been uploaded to an online gallery in high-rez, green means it's only been uploaded to a "blog gallery," and yellow means "keep for reference." Those labels are part of the catalog info, so it works well. You could probably also use the star labels in a similar manner.
