A traveler without observation is a bird without wings.

We’re in the northern hemisphere again.  When I checked the NavChannel at 6:40a this morning we were at 0.13.38N.  Not sure when the exact crossing happened … not that it matters.  I figure we will now remain in the northern hemisphere for the rest of our voyage.

More importantly — we had a rare thing happen today … and only because we crossed the Equator within 24 hours of the equinox.  Essentially, we went from summer to fall in the southern hemisphere and sprung into spring when we crossed over to the northern hemisphere a short while later.  Three seasons in one day … can’t say that we’ve experienced that before.

And then to wrap up the day with a glorious sunset!

Life is indeed good!  Tomorrow we will be in Malaysia … another new country for us.

  2. When I read your text to Jimmy, he said, "That's pretty cool." (pause) "That's really cool, actually." I concur. You're like a time traveler going from south to north, and season to season, all in the space of 24 hours. Princess Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring! One of your best sunset photos, Erin. Absolute stunner!
